My winter break was really relaxing. Most of the days I spent sleeping and just watching tv. Everyday even if I went to bed early, I woke up at 5 AM and got ready to go for a run and do a couple exercises. It was pretty cold at 5 AM and I couldn't feel my hands or face. Spending time with family was the most fun I had during spring break. We had family BBQ’s for holidays and 1 for my grandpa who returned from the hospital. Overall my winter break was amazing and I had a blast. I actually missed coming to school and was already wanting to come and do work.
During my first semester, I loved my english, wood products, residential construction, and fitness training classes the most. I regret not putting as much effort in the first semester as I am putting now. I used to slack off and mess around and now I know I have to be ahead of everyone else and turn in my assignments on time or ahead of time. Before graduation i need to accomplish my english class and my history class. More importantly I need to finish the classes i haven't finished my junior year. The number one thing I need to focus on the most is my exit interview. My exit interview will determine if I graduate or I get held back. My job shadow is something else I need to accomplish because it was due junior year and I haven't gotten around to doing it.
I am not attending college but I am attending the military. I have chosen to join the United States Marine Corps because of their popularity, benefits, codes of excellence, programs, and the ability to mature you into a respectful and mature adult. I have already joined the Marine Corps but I am currently in the delayed entry program (DEP) which is a program for high school seniors or graduates that are wanting to join the Marine’s. I have been a poolie since August and since then I have not changed my mind and I will push through this program and boot camp when the time comes. I want to be like the rest of my friends who had joined. To be proud of what I have accomplished and know that nobody can take away from me the right I have earned through blood, sweat, and tears of being called a United States Marine. My senior year has been a big eye opener to my future. it has taught me that nothing in this world is handed to you. everything you want you must work for and sacrifice a lot. I have found myself a very good and steady job after high school. I don't have to worry anymore about finding a job just to pay for my school. I will have a big burden lifted off my shoulders knowing I don't have to worry about paying for my school if I still want to attend school or take courses online.
